Jon Cryer to appear on Ellen Thursday - says he needs the work…

Wednesday, March 9, 2011 0 comments
After almost two weeks of non-stop Charlie Sheen, his one-time friend and co-star Jon Cryer plans a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres show on Thursday.

Cryer will appear in a sketch with Ellen where he has been hired as a new receptionist. He takes phone calls about how to get tickets to the show and Ellen’s dance routines.

He tells Ellen, “I need the work”.

Cryer has been out of work since the meltdown of Charlie Sheen caused CBS to shut down the hit sitcom “Two and a Half Men”.

Sheen has lashed out at Cryer calling him a troll, and a traitor.

Ellen's First American Idol - Video

Wednesday, February 10, 2010 0 comments
Ellen DeGeneres was a hit with both fans and contestants last night on her first official appearance on "American Idol"

Internet viewers took to the blogs after the show to lend their support to the fourth, and newest judge.

Last night was Hollywood Week where almost 200 contestants were whittled down to just twenty-four finalists. It was a perfect time to slot in Ellen.

Skeptics grew concerned last year when it was announced the DeGeneres would replace long time judge Paul Abdul. Abdul brought decades of musical experience to the show where Ellen had no formal background.

All-in-all things went well, and FOX is hoping ratings stay strong this year in light of the fact that Simon Cowell will be leaving next.

Several names have been discussed as Simon Cowell replacements - Jamie Foxx, Sirius XM Radio shock jock Howard Stern, and music executive Tommy Mottola. No replacement has been announced yet.

Ellen DeGeneres Supports Gay Marriage - Donates $100,000

Saturday, October 18, 2008 0 comments
First it was Brad Pitt. Then Steven Spielberg. Then others.

Now it's Ellen DeGeneres' turn to show her support for the defeat of California's proposition 8.

The original gay marriage bill passed earlier this year may be repealed - again banning gay marriage in the state.

According to the a "No on Prop. 8" spokesperson, Ellen's cash will go to fund a media advertising campaign targeted at encouraging those in California to vote NO on the ballot initiative, which looks to define marriage in the California Constitution as "A union between a man and a woman".

Ellen's ad campaign will take her public plea, which she released Tuesday on the "Ellen" web site, to television stations in California where she will try to convince people to vote down the proposition.

Ellen married her long time lesbian partner Portia de Rossi earlier this year just months after California began allowing same sex marriage. Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have vowed to tie the knot by Christmas.

While the "No on Prop. 8" staff would not provide details about the dollar amount Ellen donated, a spokesman for GLAAD said she gave $100,000, the same amount as Brad Pitt who was the first Hollywood celebrity to contribute.

Runners Up:

Suspected Runner Up:

Ellen Page
