My Chemical Romance Fires drummer Michael Pedicone for Stealing from the Band

Wow, sounds like rock and roll can be more than just sex, drugs, glamor and money.

My Chemical Romance has released a statement saying that long time drummer Michael Pedicone has been fired from the band for stealing from the other group members.

While the details are still sketchy and nobody but the band knows exactly what was stolen, they have already replaced Pedicone with Jarrod Alexander from the band Dead Country.

Whatever went down involved multiple instances of theft and the involvement of the police, although the band says they are not going to press charges.

My Chemical Romance issued a statement on the MCR official web site saying that something had happened last Friday night and they were going to make a statement to try and slow the gossip and then never talk about it again saying,

“The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over. He was caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show last night in Auburn, Washington. We are heartbroken and sick to our stomachs over this entire situation. The band has no intention of pressing charges or taking this matter any further than we have to. We just want him out of our lives. The people who play in this band are a family, and family should not take advantage of each other like he did. We are currently moving forward, and hope to have a new drummer in place for our show in Salt Lake City, Utah. The show must go on.”

And the show did go on with substitute drummer Jarrod Alexander who is expected to continue playing with MCR until their current tour is over.

The tour is scheduled to last through October 8th and is scheduled to hit Minneapolis, Des Moines, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Camden New Jersey, Saratoga New York and other cities before ending in Los Angeles.

For now the current band members Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Frank Iero and Mikey Way said it best – the show must go on.
