2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster
Mercedes-Benz is upping the suspense as it reveals more and more details about the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster. Set to go on sale later this year, the SLS Roadster is a mechanical twin of the SLS Coupe—minus the hardtop’s dramatic gullwing doors. A 6.2-liter V-8 delivers 563 bhp and 479 lb. ft. of torque at 4750 rpm. Fitted with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the SLS Roadster won’t stop accelerating until it reaches its (electronically limited) top speed of 197 mph. The sprint to 60 mph takes only 3.7 seconds.
Although the SLS AMG coupe reaches $ 185,750, $ 200,000 roadster SLS could break the barrier. Mercedes-Benz can not get away with it because people are still out, even to revive the Gullwing coupe, so there is really no reason to sell a new version at reasonable prices. There is no car in a hurry, or: Without waiting for the final drive cover and the tape before the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of 2011, probably as a 2012 model. After that compete with the Audi R8 Spyder, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, as well as changes in the level of the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet.
