Well, nobody ever said running for President was easy - just ask Rick Perry.
After Perry’s disastrous display at the last presidential debate where he FORGOT the third government agency he would close down, the late night comedy world took aim at him for a few laughs.
First, David Letterman did a hilarious Rick Perry Top Ten List of Excuses.
One of the funniest lines was “Hey, you try concentrating with Mit Romney staring at you… that’s one handsome dude.”
Now there are two words we thought we would never hear in the same sentence – Justin Bieber and Rick Perry!
But the laughs didn’t stop there.
Jimmy Fallon also took to the makeup chair for one of his best parodies to date to spoof Perry and the other candidates in a new series of GOP presidential campaign ads.
But Fallon didn’t stop with Rick Perry. He also went after Michele Bachmann, Mit Romney, and Herman Cain.
Leave it to Fallon and Letterman to lampoon these guys and to say what so many of us would like to say - but just don’t have 2 million people listening to us.
So last June, Justin Bieber visited Jimmy Fallon’s late night show and the two did a funny spoof of Bieber’s “Someday” fragrance commercial during the perfumes official launch week.
What we DIDN’T see were the bloopers and out takes that happened behind the scenes during the filming of the segment.
This is hilarious stuff - and shows what really happens when you get two funny people together for a comedy spoof.
The parody commercial harkens back to Fallon’s days on Saturday Night Live and Bieber is a natural for this kind of humor.
The first video below is the ORIGINAL segment that aired in June of 2011 on Fallon’s show.
This next video shows the bloopers and outtakes that went on behind the scenes that were never aired – until now.
We love seeing this kind of behind the scenes footage and it definitely has Fallon’s days at SNL written all over it.
Last night, Justin Bieber stopped by NBC’s 30 Rock to visit Jimmy Fallon and talk about his new women’s perfume “Someday”.
Well, it wasn’t as much talk as it was funny SNL type commercial parody.
Jimmy and the Biebs did a parody commercial for “Someday” where Bieber says; someday… we’ll be together… Someday I’ll fall in love… Someday I’ll be older…
And someday, I’ll be fat and look like this.
That’s when Fallon appears in his “Bieber” costume.
The skit was shot in black and white and shows Bieber looking at Fallon and wondering how he got to looking that bad.
It is hilarious.
Watch Justin Bieber on the Jimmy Fallon Show
Justin has been doing up New York this week with appearances on the David Letterman Show reading the Top Ten List, and visiting the ladies at The View for a little Segway racing.
Twenty-two year old Dani is a splitting image of teen pop sensation Justin Bieber – and she doesn’t like it one bit.
Shay hails from Orlando Florida and is a singer songwriter who considers herself part of the Indie, acoustic, folk genre – NOT the teenage bubble gum puppy love genre.
And she’s not a boy – she’s a girl and proud of it.
In fact, back when people started telling her she was a splitting image of Bieber she didn’t even know who they were talking about.
Over time, it got to be such a problem she wasn’t really sure how to deal with it - so she pleaded with fans to take a deeper look at her – and not just look at the surface.
She made her plea via YouTube with the following video:
As Biebermania exploded, Shay grew frustrated that all anybody wanted to hear her play at her live shows was “Baby”. So she set out to rectify the problem with her own version of Bieber’s hit song “Baby” – she called it “What the Hell?”
Dani says she wrote the “Baby” parody as her way to fight back when people saw her for who THEY wanted her to be and not the person she really was.
Dani says,
“I am stopped everywhere I go because people think I am Justin Bieber. Before I even knew who he was, no matter what I was wearing, I would be asked for photos, autographs. “What The Hell” was my response to that. It expresses my initial confusion, the shock when I finally saw his face, the frustration with people only seeing him when they see me.”
Watch Dani Shay sing “What the Hell” Baby Parody
Dani very much has her own musical style, and even covers an Eminem song, but her biggest frustration was being compared to Bieber.
Her solo album “See Me Now” can be purchased from her website DaniShay.com, and she will autograph it on request and refers to it as her “pre-fame” album.
So, will Dani Shay become famous?
After last night - the answer is probably yes!
You see, Shay took the stage at the “America’s Got Talent” Houston auditions last night and had the opportunity to sing “What the hell” in front of 20 million television viewers.
She was a smash hit! The audience and AGT judges loved it and we’re sure we will be seeing more of her.
Leave it to the cast of “Glee” to break social norms.
This Tuesday night will be no different.
In an episode titled “Prom Queen”, the cast of “Glee” will take on "Dancing Queen" from Abba, "Rolling in the Deep" from Adele, and "Isn't She Lovely" from Stevie Wonder.
But the big news is they will also be doing a revamped version of the now infamous Rebecca Black song “Friday”.
Black released her version of “Friday” last month and the world flat out laughed it into fame - not because it was good, but because it was bad. So very very bad.
It was so bad that Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert used it in a parody duet on Jimmy’s show after Colbert lost a bet.
But the “Glee Cast” actually nailed the song with their revised up-tempo version. I can actually imagine driving down the road with the windows open singing along with the beat. Okay, not really.
Weird Al has proven you can be successful by covering some of the most influential songs of our times – in parody.
But now he has truly shown us just how weird, and boring he really is.
After a public dispute where Al accused Gaga’s camp of denying permission to parody her tune “Born this Way”, he has taken his talents to YouTube with a parody titled “Perform this way”.
We now understand that Al has received permission and the whole thing was a misunderstanding - or marketing ploy?
Anyway, we’ve heard a lot of Weird Al stuff in the past and have to say – Al, you phoned this one in.
Yea, it’s a parody of Lady Gaga “Born this Way” – but Yankovic is unable to bring any of the Gaga emotion and it just sounds flat. Not anything new, or close to the days of his Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” spoof.
Al plans the use the Gaga single on his new album due in June.
Watch/Listen to Weird Al Cover Lady Gaga “Born This Way”
Really? Do we really need another Weird Al Yankovic album? There is only so much Al that I can take.
Funny Or Die on the other hand knows how to produce parody. The video below is a movie trailer for the "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story"
Watch the wedding entrance dance to top all wedding entrance dances!
T-Mobile's Royal Wedding Dance celebrates the marriage of William and Kate with the help of a host of royal impersonators and music from East 17.
The hilarious video has already gone viral with over 5 million views and shows the royal wedding party entrance that we guarantee you will NOT see in the real world.
Even the Queen gets involved, but Prince Harry is the best.
The “Torpedo of Truth” Messiah, Charlie Sheen, has graced us Earthlings with new words of proverbial tiger wisdom that only Trolls can deny are truth… or something like that…
Sheen took directors liberties with an original cut of his now infamous 20/20 interview on ABC last month. He spliced in repeated catch phrases, jokes, bizarre costume changes, and all around “you should have stopped after the first one”.
Oh yea, Sheen also sticks cigarettes up his nose and in his ears and blows smoke through his nose, and performs synchronized swimming with his bro-friends. Seriously, I’m not making that up - really.
The video first appeared during his live show in Detroit where it was not received well.
